Title: Warbirds Gathering - 17 Sept 2017
Post by: Rene on April 27, 2017, 09:33:42 AM
Good Day all

This years KRCM Warbirds Gathering will be held on Sunday 17 Sept from 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs.

The intent for this day is to have fun, fly and enjoy a good deal of bashing from the peanut gallery.

All types and era of military airplanes are welcome, for static display or for flying.  The definition of a warbird for this event is:  A Scale or a sport scale representation of a plane that was used by the military for training or for operations from WW1 to present, including military trainers.  The J-3 Cub will be accepted in yellow (they were used as trainers).  However the foamies Supercub and Fun Cub, or a trainer / stick plane with army markings do not count as warbirds.

There will be an attempt at mass take off at 1300 hrs.  This event is for .46 size warbirds, examples of these are the hangar-9 P-51, P-40, VQ Mustang, Hurricane and Yak, etc.  The aim of this event is to do a mass flyby, no aerobatics, just circuit flying while attempting formation

The theme for this year is bomber....

There are no registration or landing fees

Canteen will be available for lunch and other munchies as available

If you are interested to volunteer, just let me know

Rene (Air Boss)

After much discussion, the theme for this year will be level bombing

You will need to release your bomb while flying level over the target, so get those bomb release system ready   :o

If you are not sure what level bombing entails, just see the attachment

The process for the ticket is based on the honor system and is simple, you are responsible to fill the ticket and place it in the pot upon registration and after each flight.

You get 1 ticket for each warbirds you register with the intention of flying
(if you bring a warbirds just to show it up, you get no tickets but you are eligible for pilot selection award)

You get an additional ticket for any bomber or fighter bomber type airplane

You get 1 ticket for each time you fly your Warbird more than 5 minutes

You get 1 ticket for each successful drop within the marked area, and 2 tickets if you hit the bullseye.  This need to be witnessed to be valid.

The more you fly your warbirds the more you get your name in the Pot for the prize Draw
