New Pogo
« on: July 03, 2016, 05:55:45 PM »
Building a new big Pogo as my old one is pretty well beat to death but still flies well. Only looks good at a distance.
This thing flies so well, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Flies like a trainer plane.  ;D
This one will hopefully be a little more rugged, as now I know where the weak spots were.
This new one is made from the floor insulation foam from Home Depot that is 3/4 in. thick.
Here are the cutouts for it.
If there's any interest I'll put up pics as I progress.
 Let me know.

That's slick.
I'm not getting notifications, something is screwy with  the site. I can't see the ads I posted either.
Got a few flights up early this morning before the wind got up.

I'm not that computer savy but I wonder what would happen if you canceled your" subscription" for lack of a better word, and started all over again here.??
Was writing a message on RC Groups this morning when my keyboard just sh%$ the bed and quit. Had to go down to Staples and get a new one. Another bummer.

One of the troubles with my old big Pogo was, the piano type hinge kept coming unglued.
For this one I made a Mickey Mouse double hinge by wiring two of the big Dubro hinges together that will be glued through the wing and attached to the upper and lower sections.
Don't know if it will work or not but it should be stronger. Five of these along the length of the delta wing.

If it can't be done with nuts and bolts, it can't be done!

My Trojan is ready to fly with working flaps!

Now on to the Vamp. It looks like I should be ordering a fan upgrade.

If I was me, I'd try the stock fan first Reg. Mine worked well. I've read up at the website and the upgrades didn't add a heck of a lot. The only fast one I've seen is where a guy made it into a flying wing using only the fuse. and wing.
Went out to the field today as I though I'd get a bit of flying with the overcast sky. After I put up a flight I realized I'd forgotten and left my Pepsi at home.  ???
Bummer growing old and your memory gets more and more brain farts.
