There is very little chance that any Fun Flys will take place this year, at least in the traditional style with large groups, camping, canteen, dinner, etc. We can expect some announcement regarding the Zone Fun Fly sometime soon.

This can very likely extend well into next winter, at least, casting our 2021 annual Auction into doubt.

Remember how it works: Our Membership fees have to cover our Operating Costs for the year; any profits from Fun Flys and the Auction go into the Contingency Fund. We try to have $2000 in each of the Operations and Fun Fly Accounts on 1 January. If either one is short of that amount, we try to top it up from any Auction or Fun Fly net income, before then transferring anything left over into the Contingency Fund.

Batten down the (financial) hatches, folks, we will be dependent upon our Membership fees as sole support for awhile. Hopefully, we won't have to draw down our already diminishing Contingency Fund to make ends meet, let alone to handle any emergency major expenses .

It is not all gloom and doom.

We have a terrific facility, second to none, and an active Membership. The grounds and building are well maintained by our small band of volunteers. We are able to fly any day of the year. Use it and enjoy it!

We need 80 to 85 Memberships to cover our normal Operating Costs. We have about 55 right now.
These are tough times for many,  but we hope to see our Members and friends able to return to the fold soon!

Hmmm, maybe its time to look at how we do maintenance at the field,

is there places where we can shave the ice cube ?  Do we need to mow the grass area where we park and tent during the fun-fly’s Or can we do that just once every 3 week, that would save on gas expenses,  all new maintenance projectS should be put on hold until we have the numbers, can not spend money we do not have...  just few thoughts...
